The season opener and inaugural game at Pegula Ice Arena is still on thin ice for Penn State men’s hockey. The department of defense has yet to approve games for military academies, including army, who is scheduled to play the Nittany Lions this friday night. Mike McMahon of College Hockey News tells 6 Sports, a source in the Army hockey program, says Penn State has told them they have a backup opponent in place, from the Atlantic Hockey conference. There is still no word yet from Penn State officials.
