How It Happened: Penn State played a crisp and dominate opening 20 minutes scoring two goals in just over five minutes in the opening 10 minutes of play. Defenseman Luke Juha tallied his third of the season on the power play just 3:51 in the game and freshman Ricky DeRosa made it 2-0, 8:04 into the contest. Matthew Skoff was almost perfect on the night, stopping 20 of 21 shots letting in a lone redirection in the final half minute of regulation. The game could have been more lopsided but Sacred Heart goaltender Alex Vazzano made 37 saves, several of the impressive variety.
