Post-Gazette.com – Giving up nearly 60 shots is a good way to lose a game. Scoring a half-dozen goals is a better way to win it. Despite being outshot, 56-33, host Robert Morris was able to defeat Penn State, 6-4, in the first round of the Three Rivers Classic Monday night at Consol Energy Center. Robert Morris coach Derek Schooley dismissed the lopsided shot totals. “The only thing I worry about is [the score],” Schooley said. “The way defense is played now, you want to protect the middle of the ice. You’ll give up perimeter shots, count on your goalies to make saves from the outside.” Robert Morris scored the first goal 3:57 into the game.
