STATE COLLEGE — In its home opener with Army last Friday, the Penn State men’s hockey team had to contend with its emotions in front of a sold-out crowd for its season-opener and first contact in Pegula Ice Arena.
Those are behind them now after a sound 4-1 victory over the Knights put head coach Guy Gadowsky’s troops on a high note at the start of non-conference play. But new challenges are staring them in the face, as rather than emotion, it will be altitude that Gadowsky’s skaters have to manage Friday and Saturday night in Colorado Springs.
