Several times at Pegula Ice Arena on Friday night, the video board reminded the sellout crowd of the punishment Penn State has inflicted upon the No. 16 Michigan hockey team over the last two seasons.
After all, Penn State secured its first Big Ten hockey victory at Yost Ice Arena, a place where few teams have earned bragging rights. Plus, the Nittany Lions in their second year as a varsity program had been the ones to knock the Wolverines out of the Big Ten Tournament just over one year ago, effectively ending Michigan’s hopes of a NCAA Tournament berth.
And the Nittany Lions brought the pain on ice Friday, too, embarrassing the Wolverines, 6-4.
