After going down 1-0 to the Wolverines just 46 seconds into the game, the Nittany Lions rallied for a three-goal opening frame that capitulated them to their fourth win in five games over Michigan. It took 13 minutes for the Nittany Lions to respond, but Max Gardiner got Penn State on the board on the power play on his second goal of the year. Casey Baileys one-timer from the left circle made its way through traffic and off of Gardiner in front of Wolverine goaltenderZachNagelvoort and in for the 1-1 tie with 5: 54 to play in the first.
