Patrick Koudys is from Hamilton, Ontario, and part of a sizable hockey family. His father, Jim, was a draft pick of the New York Islanders and had a brief career playing in the American Hockey League. Patrick Koudyss uncle, Randy, played college hockey at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and he also has two cousins who play professionally.
