PENN STATE 4, ARMY 1: The Nittany Lions opened the Pegula Ice Arena by beating the Black Knights before an announced crowd of 6,370. Nate Jensen gave Penn State a 1-0 lead at 3:02 of the first period. Curtis Loik’s shorthanded goal at 3:24 of the third made it 2-0. The home team took 11 penalties for 33 minutes, but Army was 1-for-10 on the power play.
