Ohio State began Friday night with a celebration of Tanner Laczynski, the freshman forward who wasn’t in the lineup a day removed from winning a gold medal with Team USA at the world juniors. It ended with the No. 11 Buckeyes celebrating a win over second-ranked Penn State. The Buckeyes (10-3-4, 2-1-0 Big Ten) blocked 23 shots and senior goalie Christian Frey made 46 saves in 3-0 win over Penn State (13-2-1, 2-0-0) in their conference home opener at Value City Arena.
