A common proverb in the English discourse says “there is no rose without a thorn.”
Near the conclusion of the first period at Pegula Ice Arena Friday night the Nittany Lions (1-2-1) had their thorn, but there was no rose in sight.
Forward David Glen, considered by some to be the best player on the Lions’ roster, had his night abruptly come to an early conclusion when he was slapped with a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for kneeing RIT defenseman Nolan Descoteaux.
