According to two sources, Army has been given the green light to open its regular season at Penn State this upcoming weekend.
The Black Knights were in a state of flux due to the shutdown of the federal government. They were allowed to play an exhibition scrimmage this past weekend and Army’s football program was allowed to play at Boston College, but further athletic events weren’t given permission to proceed.
Penn State, which is scheduled to open its Pegula Ice Arena this weekend against the Black Knights, learned of Army’s status on Tuesday; they were in the process of lining up a replacement if Army wasn’t able to get clearance.
