Forward Eric Scheid scored on the first two shots of the game as Penn State swept Michigan State, 6-1, at Pegula Ice Arena in front of 6,178 fans. Junior goaltender Eamon McAdam made 28 stops to aid the Nittany Lions.

“We had a four-goal lead going into the third (Friday) night and we sort of got it taken to us, and (Saturday) I thought we played our game in the third so it was good to see that we learned something,” Penn State coach Guy Gadowsky said.

With the win, Penn State matched its program-best eight-game unbeaten streak from last season.

A total team effort, Penn State (10-2-3, 2-0-0-0 Big Ten) saw every member of the team record a positive rating with 12 different Nittany Lions recording a point and five scoring a goal. Michigan State (4-8-2, 0-2-0-0 Big Ten) saw its winless streak reach seven games (0-6-1).
