Penn State women’s hockey: Nittany Lions suffer first loss

HAMDEN, CONN. — Penn State goalie Nicole Paniccia fended off 48 shots, but it wasn’t enough as Quinnipiac handed the Nittany Lions their first loss with a 5-1 triumph on Friday.

Shannon Yoxheimer had the lone goal for Penn State (1-1-1), which was outshot 53-25. Sarah Nielsen and Taylor Gross had assists.
