Forget about finding another dance partner for opening night. The Penn State men’s hockey team will play Army in Friday’s Pegula Ice Arena grand opening.
After eight days of “will they or won’t they?” talk as to whether the Black Knights would be in State College despite the government shutdown, confirmation came Wednesday morning from the man who runs Army’s hockey conference.
Bob DeGregorio, commissioner of Atlantic Hockey, issued a statement that read: “Army will open its 2013-14 regular season on Friday, October 11 at Penn State. The puck will drop at 8:00 p.m. at the Pegula Ice Arena and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.”
