The first night of the Big Ten hockey shakeout leaned in the Gophers favor. They eliminated Penn State from the race for a conference regular-season title and Michigan upset Michigan States chance at claiming at least a share of the championship. Despite the many difference scenarios that could play out in the Big Tens final weekend of the regular season, the Gophers tried to only concern themselves with winning.
