BURLINGTON, VT. — Freshman Laura Bowman netted her first two goals as the Penn State women’s hockey team scored the last two goals to defeat Vermont 4-2 on Saturday.

Hannah Hoenshell tallied a game-high three points with a goal and two assists. Goaltender Celine Whitlinger saved 37 shots as the Nittany Lions improved to 1-0-1 on the season.

Hoenshell snapped a 2-2 tie with her goal 3:54 into the second period. Bowman followed with her second goal at the 17:22 mark of the second period, which closed out the scoring.
