BRIDGEPORT – Like a lot of players, Casey Bailey hoped to have a landing spot for the 2017-18 season on July 1. The start of NHL free agency wasn’t so kind.He wound up with a tryout with the New York Islanders last month. They let him go, but sent him to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on a tryout. That turned into an AHL contract on Monday. “I’m excited to get a deal done,” Bailey said. “I think I landed in a good spot. I really like the coaching staff, the staff in general.”This will be the third full pro season for the Anchorage, Alaska, native, who turns 26 this month.
