Through its first four seasons, the Penn State men’s hockey team progressed steadily. The Nittany Lions won 13 games in 2012-13, their inaugural season, slumped to six wins the next year then rocketed to 18 wins two seasons ago before finishing with a program-best 21 wins last season.
Now, midway through its fifth season, Penn State appears to have arrived as a legitimate force.
